The essential jacket from the Laos collection!
Are you looking for a unique, practical and original garment that will follow you for years?
Opt without hesitation for the Tai Dam jacket which is already taking on the look of an iconic piece!
Its traditional clasps in recycled metal and his ethnic patterns give it a character that does not go unnoticed.
Pair it with pants or a skirt for a structured look (why not the Hmong carrot pants or the Amrita skirt ?) or wear it with jeans for a casual style.
Eco-design and fair trade for the Tai Dam jacket
The Tai Daim jacket is eco-designed like most of our creations and respects the traditional know-how .
It is manufactured in one of the workshops of our ethical partners in Phnom Penh. For this design, we worked with Fairsew, a fair tailoring workshop which offers seamstresses a living wage, a healthier work environment and regular training.
The fabrics are made in Laos according to traditional methods of weaving and natural dyeing . They allow artisans to preserve their culture while comfortably earning a living.
A zero-waste jacket
Following our environmental approach, the Tai Daim jacket, thanks to its recycled metal clasps, is 0% plastic !
We also collect the fabric scraps from our designs to create new products.
What does Tai Dam mean?
The Tai Dam are a people of northern Southeast Asia. They are part of the great ethno-linguistic family of Tai-Kadai bringing together 90 million people from China to India, via northern Vietnam, Laos and Thailand.
The Tai Dam are recognizable by the buttonholes of their blouses. Exactly the same buttons used for this jacket. It is therefore quite naturally that we gave it the name of this ethnic group.
