An original and zero waste pouch
The making of this pouch is the result of MUUDANA’s zero-waste approach. Scraps of fabric from the clothing industry are collected to make accessories. Indeed, these fabrics are so beautiful that it would be a shame to throw away even one cm²!
This pouch is original with its ethnic patterns. It will not go unnoticed! For a total look, you can wear it with the Tai Dam jacket made in the same fabrics!
A small practical pouch in which you can store your pens, cosmetics, your laptop and headphones … Or use it in the evening to take the bare essentials with you!
Eco-responsible fabrics
The cotton fabric used for this pouch comes from a 100% local and 100% handmade cultivation and transformation process.
All stages are carried out in Laos in the region of Luang Prabang, in the north of the country. The mountains and the humid climate are conducive to the cultivation of natural cotton that does not require irrigation, fertilizers or pesticides. This cotton is cultivated in family agriculture, together with other food crops such as rice.
Cotton is harvested by hand, then ginned, spun and woven by hand, with only a few machines built locally with recovered materials.
Fair tailoring
Then for the manufacture of these zero-waste accessories MUUDANA created a partnership with a renowned NGO from Cambodia: Friends International. The objective of this association is to protect and help children and adolescents in Southeast Asia who, in a context of poverty, are victims of violence, prostitution or exploitation.
To ensure the well-being and the future of these children, the NGO offers income-generating and equitable activities for parents as well as vocational training for adolescents. This is how the association has acquired real know-how in the making of accessories. An expertise that MUUDANA is delighted to support through this partnership and the making of zero-waste accessories.
