Our ethical fashion approach for playsuits
The Black Hmong playsuit is 100% made of cotton
The outer fabric was dyed according to traditional techniques of the Hmong ethnic group .
The interior fabric is up-cycled cotton and is locally sourced, at 1km from the clothing workshop.
Our clothes are made in Phnom Penh in a ethical and family workshop. The seamstresses benefit from respectful and fulfilling working conditions.
Preserved traditional know-how
The Black Hmong playsuit highlights the batik, a ancestral dyeing technique typical of Hmong peoples.
the batik is a reserve dyeing technique. That is to say that the patterns are traced with wax on the fabric, which makes it possible to reserve the white parts. The textile is then dyed and then boiled to remove the wax. This is when the white patterns preserved from the wax dye appear.
